Sony Wireless Microphone ECM-HW2 is a wireless
communication system complying with Bluetooth specification
Ver. 2.0. The microphone transmitter and receiver are monaural, non-
directional system which has a working range of approximately
100 m (300 ft).  The microphone (transmitter) uses power from one
1.5 V. AAA size alkaline dry battery or a AAA size Ni-MH rechargeable
battery. The operating time for an alkaline battery is approx. 3 hours.
Frequency response of the microphone is from 300 - 9000 Hz.

The receiver uses power supplied via the
Active Interface Shoe (AIS).
Power consumption is 0.3 W. when the receiver is attached to the
camera.

Mode Switch of the Microphone
1.
Single Mode : The sound picked up by the microphone only will be
recorded.
2.
5.1 ch Mix Mode : When used with a video camera compatible with
5.1 ch recording, this wireless microphone works as the center micro-
phone of the 5.1 ch recording.
3.
Mono Mix Mode : The sound picked up by both of the microphone
and receiver will be recorded monaurally.

In either of the three modes, it is possible to hear the sound around the
receiver on the microphone side, and the sound around the microphone
on the receiver side
by connecting the earphones while connected for
communications. That makes it possible for the person recording the
scene with the video camera and the subject holding the microphone
to communicate when apart.
