3.5" External HDD Enclosure The Smart-drive external HDD enclosure Model HD6-SU2FW can be used with Windows 2000 / XP, Vista (32/64 bit), MAC10.X or after that. It has the interface SATA HDD to USB 2.0 / IEEE 1394A. 3.5" Hard Disk Drive The 1.5 TB Seagate HDD SATA was installed into the enclosure. This can be done with just one screw driver. The capacity of the drive is 1,396 Megabytes. Simple Tests A. Firewire IEEE1394A Connection with HP Pavillion Model s7550d Transferred 988 MB images files (396 images) from CF card to the external HDD took 68 seconds. Thus the transfer rate is 14.68 MB/sec. B. USB 2.0 Connection with HP Pavillion Model s7550d Transferred 988 MB images files (396 images) from CF card to the external HDD took 106 seconds. Thus the transfer rate is 9.42 MB/sec. From the tests the transfer rate using IEEE 1394 connection is approximately 56 % faster than USB 2.0.
