                              Sony Digital MVC-CD300

As of October 2002, I have already taken about 6,900 pictures and there are some more tips that
I would like to  share my experiences.
11) Closed Up / Macro Pictures.  To take the closed up pictures indoor for small objects such as
jewelry, especially ear rings and ring, the sharpness and depth of field are very important. The pictures
below were shot with Sony CD300 on a tripod, and comparisons are made with Sony F707 and Nikon
D100. Two small table fluorescent lamps were used and the light color background (paper) was used
instead of the cloth.

Depth of field can be controlled with
the aperture (A) setting.

Because the camera lens is so close to the object,
therefore, the depth of field must be controlled.
The aperture priority (A) was set. Due to the
not too strong light source the camera was put on
a tripod and the pictures were shot by using the
automatic self timer mode to prevent camera shakes
for Sony CD300 and Sony F707 while the shutter
release cable was used for Nikon D100.

Note : The quality of the pictures are not much
different for this particular test. The depth of field
control by Sony CD300 is also very good. The 5
and 6 megapixels cameras seem to give a little
more details and sharpness. For general use the
results of all three cameras are very satisfactory.
