Built in the reign of King Narai the Great in 1666, they are two-row brick buildings comprised of 12 halls, and were used as storage buildings or warehouses for royal processions and merchandise for overseas trade. This palace
was built during the reign of King Narai the Great ( see Plan of the Palace ). The Water Tank. Built in the reign of Hing Narai the Great in 1666 by French and Italian Jesuits for the provision of water to various buildings in the Palace via terracotta pipes. The water was piped from "Sub-Lek" basin, some 16 kilometers from the Palace. ![]() The Entrance into the Inner Palace. |
