The New Bangkok International Airport

Brief Information The airport is located in Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province, about 30 kms or 18.6 miles east of Bangkok. This airport has the tallest control tower (132 m.) and the largest single building (563,000 sq.m) in the world at the time of its completion in September 2006. Other Information : Two parallel runways (60 m. wide,4,000 m. and 3,700 m. long). Two parallel taxiways to accommodate simultaneous departures and arrivals. 120 parking bays (51 with contact gates and 69 remote gates). 5 of the 120 parking bays are capable of accommodating the Airbus A380 aircraft. Capable of handling 76 flight operations per hour, both international and domestic flights will share the airport terminal. Capable of handling 45 million passengers in the initial phase. 5-storey car park building with total capacity of 5,000 cars. Long-term plans for 4 runways flanking two main terminals and two satellite buildings with a combined capacity of handling uo to 100 million passengers and 6.4 million tonnes of cargo.
