which means the City of Angels established in
1782 by King Rama I as the capital of Siam at
that time. Bangkok has retained its traditional
charm with a mixture of old cultural heritage
and new modern skyscrapers, luxurious hotels,
shopping centers, street shoppings, famous
Thai food, restaurants, sports, entertainment, etc.

Travelling from Bangkok International Airport to
downtown and around Bangkok can be made
by the express way system. Mass rapid transit consists of elevated electric train is under
construction and will be in operation by the
end of 1999.  Also, subway system is now under construction.
Bangkok International Airport (BIA)
Located about 25 km north of Bangkok city. This airport has about 25 million passengers in 1996 which resulted in the
27th of the world and it is the world second rank for the
growth rate of passengers.There are two terminal buildings
and about one kilometer to the south there is a Bangkok
Domestic Terminal Building. The new airport at Nong Ngu Hao is now under construction.
