Wat Pong Yang Kok is located on the Hangchat - Koh Ka road
in Hangchat District. It is an important temple to the history of
Lampang. It is the temple where Nhan Tip Chang, the ancestor
of the seven kings of the north, lived his life as a monk. At the
temple visitors will find historical architecture, the Jamma Dhevi
shrine that was built by Chawmae Jamma Dhevi, the Queen of
Hariphunchai (Lamphun). According to the information shown
at site, the temple was constructed around B.E. 1253 or
1290 years ago.
