Wat Matchimawat was built 400 years ago as a royal temple. This monastery is located on Sauburi road. The interior of the temple displays murals depicting history of Songkhla and Buddhist philosophy. Also in the compound there is a "Phattarasin" museum which houses interesting ancient art objects collected from Songkhla, Sathing Phra, Ranode Districts and elsewhere.
