 Suphanburi was formerly called Phanthum Buri and
was constructed during the year 877-882 A.D.
The name of the city was changed to Song Phan Buri,
U Thong Buri, and until the reign of King Khun Luang
Pha Ngua when the name was changed to Suphan Buri.

is approx.100 kms via the new Nonthaburi -
Suphan Buri highway. It is very convenient
to travel by car or by bus.
