Khao Kheow Open Zoo This open zoo is located at Tambon Bang Phra, and covering a large area of 1,200 acres. The zoo can be reached by either : (1) from Sukhumvit Highway follow the Bang Phra Reservoir route, passing the Bang Phra golf course for another 19 kilometers, or (2) follow the new State Highway No.36, and follow direction signs. The open zoo, operated by the Dusit Zoo Authority of Bangkok, has a large number of animals such as deer, bulls, monkeys, gibbons, hippopotemi, bears, kangaroos, banteng, elephants, peacocks, etc. Visitors can stroll around or can go through the area by car.
