The Elephant Stable
Built in the reign of King Narai the Great in 1666
for keeping royal elephants. there were ruins of
ten stables's bases and the bases of other small
structures which are assumed to be the mahouts'
(elephant keepers) residences. King Narai raised
numerous elephants and he often rode on elephant
back when hunting.
