Monument of King Ramkhamhaeng                             (Bangkoksite Photos taken on August 19, 2000)

The monument of King Ramkhamhaeng is located to the north of Wat Mahathat. The bronz statue of King Ramkhamhaeng sits on a throne named Phra-Thaen- Manangkhasila-Asana with a base relief recording his life.     The Bell of King Ramkhamhaeng During the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng a bell was provided for the people to ring in case that they wanted to present some requests or appeals, etc. Presently this bell, duplicated the one found during the excavation of the centre of the old city, was created on July 21,1986.
